This is the embodiment of serge lutens, it's pure essence.
A summary -
An ever changing, dark and atmospheric jasmine drowning in acerbic inky grapey-ness.
The fluctuating indolic, leathery and banana-like facets make it so incredibly gothic, mysterious and elegant.
In my eyes this perfume Is the actual manifestation of the reasons I fell in love with serge lutens !
The colour -
The liquid is as black as night/deep purple or even lilac as it's tonality shifts and fluctuates based on perception exactly like sarrasins itself presenting me with something new with every application.
The design -
the apothecary-like design of the bell jars have always drawn my attention due to their unique shape, even if they aren't great functionally I give it props to them for being something new for a change.
I think that it gives intention behind applying the fragrance rather than spraying it mindlessly it makes you think before wearing it because this beauty deserves all your attention... I would describe it as starting a ritual.
The experience -
A hypnotic blend of blackcurrants and blackberries bid you welcome with mentholic attributes imbuing a cool inky-ness to the indolic narcotic jasmines ~
The atmosphere starts to freeze and the cold air wraps around you...
It settles down and here you think it cannot get anymore darker but it does !- In the air the leathery facets take over and harmonise with the forest berries, it becomes softer...more ominous...and more evil.
A truly ethereal jasmine to behold, this is what has captured my attention for the past year and I finally understand why after owning it.
